Aftermarket vs Genuine

What's the difference between genuine and aftermarket parts?

The original vehicle manufacturer makes genuine (OEM) parts that come in their branded packaging.  

Aftermarket parts are manufactured by other companies, cost less (generally) than genuine parts and, at Delta Diesel Parts (DDP), are guaranteed to meet OEM specifications as well.  

Is there a difference in quality? 

The quality of the parts you purchase can vary significantly depending on the source. Very inexpensive parts found on some other sites are likely aftermarket parts made offshore of inferior materials and attention to quality. Consequently, some buyers have regretted opting for lower-quality aftermarket options and prefer to stick with genuine parts. 

At Delta Diesel Parts, we take a different approach. Our aftermarket parts selection is rigorously curated and sourced exclusively from trusted suppliers with whom we have sustained long-term relationships. We assure the availability of aftermarket parts only when they can be provided by these trusted sources and their quality aligns with or exceeds that of genuine parts. 

What about pricing and availability?

We make it easy to compare! When both genuine and aftermarket options are available, our product pages provide clear pricing and availability information. This allows you to make an informed decision based on your needs and budget.

What about warranties? 

Warranty terms can vary between genuine and aftermarket parts and even among different aftermarket suppliers. We provide direct links to all warranties on each product detail page for complete transparency. This allows you to review the specific coverage before making a purchase.

Ordering

Can I cancel my order?

We understand that sometimes you may change your mind after placing an order. While we would love to accommodate every request, once an order is processed, we may not always be able to cancel it before shipping. 

If you wish to cancel your order, please contact our customer support team as soon as possible by calling 228.203.3271. (Please note that email requests may not be processed on time.) Our team will do their best to assist you and determine whether the cancellation is possible. 

What if I want to speak to someone?

We want to speak to you, too! For most time-critical communications, always call us at 228.203.3271. If preferred, go to the Contact Us page for our email and form that goes directly to Customer Support. We will be sure to get back to you within 24 hours (not including weekends and/or holidays).  

Technical Assistance 

We would love to help you with your engine problem. But as a parts dealer, we are only experts at matching the correct parts with your engine’s serial number and quickly providing you with price and availability.

Shipping

What countries do you ship to?

We currently ship to all locations in North America, Central America, and South America,as well as Oceania and the UK.  If you would like to enquire about shipping to a different destination, please contact us.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Standard shipping usually takes 2-5 days, depending on your location. Expedited shipping is available on all domestic orders (for an additional charge). International shipping times depend on the products and destination (estimated at checkout).

Returns and Warranty Claims

How do I return a product?

Items must be returned within 30 days after receiving your order. Items must be returned in the same condition they were received, be unworn/unused, have any tags still attached, and include all the original packaging.

How do I submit a warranty claim? 

Because warranties and warranty evaluations change from manufacturer to manufacturer, the best way to submit your claim is to contact us directly at 228.203.3271. Please note that manufacturers may require engine information, images, hours of operation, etc. We will provide you with clear guidance on your part’s requirements to quickly and efficiently evaluate your claim.
